The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 will give people greater freedom to explore open countryside. This access land will need to be clearly identified so that everyone knows where the new rights apply. As a first step, the Government has asked us to produce official maps of all the areas. This colourful leaflet describes the rolling programme of work that will see all open country identified and mapped.
